Plant Mobile Solutions |
|
|
Our solutions work by running your
common procedures on handheld devices such as
mobile phones and Palms® that technicians carry
with them into the field. As the techs do their
work each day, they input data into the Tec-Trac
applications running on their handheld device.
The data they enter is uploaded via the
internet/intranet to a web enabled database
either in a Batch Mode or a Wireless Mode.
The software framework Tec-Trac has developed
for these applications allows the customer to
automate practically any paper based procedures
that their field workforce is performing. Easy
to access records of the field data are kept
along with the date, time, technician name, the
procedures performed, and any corrective action
taken or required. GPS Coordinates and Mapping
are also available.
All data is accesses via a standard internet
browser. From the web, a user can modify the
procedures that run on the handheld device and
send those changes along with site specific
information to each handheld in the field.

Mobile
Architecture |

|
The Wireless
Application
The wireless applications runs on mobile phones which
are capability of supporting a version of Java called
J2ME.
-
Data is sent from the
phone to database at the end of each transaction via a
cellular telephone data network.
-
The phone network is
connected to Tec-Trac's database via an internet
connection.
-
Most mobile phones
are GPS enabled, so Global Positioning Data can be
collected. This data can be collected by transaction;
in a near real time basis; or only when activated by
the Tech. (GPS does not have to be enabled)
|
|
The Batch Application
The batch
application works by synchronizing handheld terminals
with a computer connected to the internet. This
synchronization typically takes place on a daily basis.
- Records stored on
the handheld are transmitted to the web enabled
database, and updated records from the web are
downloaded to the handheld.
- Last visit
information as well as updates to maintenance routines
is always maintained on the handheld.
- New and updated
maintenance routines are sent to the handheld during
the synchronization process.

|
| TTPM provides comprehensive
tracking, scheduling and reporting of plant
assets, including standby power supplies, batteries,
nodes, amps, etc. Your maintenance Routines are
entered into the web enabled database. Those
routines are downloaded to multiple handheld
terminals such as Palm's™ and Mobile phones. Each
plant asset is entered into the database along with installation dates, vendor
information and location.
Every time a technician visits the
plant asset for maintenance,
information is recorded on the handheld terminal and
sent in batch mode or real-time to the database. A
record of every maintenance visit is kept along with the date and time, the ID
of the technician who performed the visit and any corrective actions taken. If records
or maintenance procedures are changed, all
the handheld terminals are updated through a
regular synchronization process.
Paper record keeping is
eliminated. Transcription errors are reduced and
hundreds of man hours are saved by not having to
compile paper records. Timely and accurate data
is available to both the field workforce and
management.
|
|
-
Planned maintenance is scheduled and
follow up is checked.
-
Information regarding plant assets
(e.g. nodes, power supplies and
batteries) is kept “real time” and
accessible both in the field and in
the office.
-
Employee productivity is monitored
and stored. The time of each
maintenance visit, the length of the
each visit and travel time between
maintenance visits is recorded.
-
Asset management is improved by
carefully tracking installation
dates, warranty dates and mean time
before failure. Budget forecasts are
easily generated.
|
-
Detailed inventory of equipment is
maintained and available for
reports.
-
Replacement inventory levels are
minimized due to accurate knowledge
of field equipment condition.
-
System reliability is improved and
money is saved by enforcing and
tracking a comprehensive maintenance
program.
-
Tracking of warranty, MTBF and cost data.
-
Reporting can be done on any
individual device or an entire
system.

TTCLI
|
Leakage Maintenance Application
|
|
| TTCLI is used for tracking
and repair of system leaks. The TTCLI database
maintains a complete record of every leak report,
each work order issued, status of work orders,
corrective actions taken, staff member credentials
and equipment calibration. Data from popular CLI
recording systems can be directly imported into the
TTCLI database.
In the field, technicians use
mobile phones to enter real time data on leak
related field activity. This data is then synchronized with the master
TTCLI
database when the technician returns from the field.
Manual record keeping is eliminated, saving hundreds of man hours and increasing
the effectiveness of your leak maintenance program. Quarterly compliance
reports can be generated eliminating time consuming manual completion of FCC
Forms.

Cable
Security for Audits |

The Security
Application is an automated program that runs on
Palm PDA’s. It allows technicians to perform Audits
and Quality Checks using the PDA instead of “green
bar” paper. Data is imported from the Billing
System, and Work Orders created from the web for
each tech. On the handheld, the tech is
presented with account information. All
entries the tech makes are saved in the handhelds
internal memory, and are down loaded at the end of
each day by performing a synchronization with the
supervisors computer. New work is automatically
downloaded from the web site, and in depth reporting
of cable theft provided.
